An Entrepreneurial Vision

Maria Elena Arias’s determination and strong family upbringing are the essence of her success. Born in Havana, Cuba, she moved with her family to South Florida in the early 1960’s. Her parents, Maria Elena’s true inspiration, worked diligently to provide their children with the best education and moral upbringing they could afford. Living in South Florida, Maria Elena not only developed strong bonds with the Cuban community, but was able to learn about and appreciate various cultures from around the world. As a child, Maria Elena was driven and had grand aspirations of owning her own business and working hands-on with people. She admired her parent’s strength and believed that their inspiration coupled with her drive and determination, would make her dream come true.

After graduating from Notre Dame Academy, Maria Elena pursued her career goal and began working in the real estate industry. She worked as a paralegal for a prominent South Florida law firm, where she specialized in the legalities of real estate transactions. She excelled in the field and in 1986 received a Legal Studies certificate from Florida International University.

Clearly the consummate entrepreneur, Maria Elena established her own title and escrow company in 1988. As CEO, she established a solid company serving the needs of real estate, financing and banking communities throughout South Florida. She was determined to expand her company in a way which would offer her clients a more inclusive and convenient opportunity to handle all of their business needs.

In 1995, Maria Elena opened Colonial Guaranty & Title, Inc., the only full service title, settlement and escrow company to provide 24 hour service 7 days a week throughout Florida. With offices in Miami, Boca Raton, Palm Beach, Coral Springs and Weston, Colonial Guaranty & Title provides the most indulgent and professional title service experience for its customers. In order to assist with the company’s wide range of residential, lending, commercial, building, development, foreign nationals and 1031 exchange dealings, Maria Elena has ensured that her company’s signature standardized title system is also offered in both English and Spanish.

Maria Elena’s commitment to excellence is evidenced not only by her vast knowledge, but also by the genuine interest and dedication she takes with each client and staff member to ensure every detail is thoroughly reviewed, while providing an indulgent experience. Maria Elena’s strong principles and family values translate to her entire staff, and with a thriving company pay homage to her success. Maria Elena has been living in South Florida for the past 43 years and enjoys reading, dancing, playing golf, and spending time with her family. Additionally, she is an active member of the Boca Raton and Broward Chambers of Commerce, as well as the Real Estate Association of Fort Lauderdale, International Business Council, Real Estate Association of Fort Lauderdale, International Business Council of Real Estate Association of the Palm Beaches, Florida Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors and Realtor Association of Miami.
